Lewis Silkin has been named as a finalist in three categories of the SOMOs (the UK Social Mobility Awards), which celebrate organisations which are embedding social mobility initiatives into their core business strategy.
The firm is up for the most prestigious category at the awards - Organisation of the Year – and is one of only two law firms in this category.
There are also two nominations for individual colleagues at Lewis Silkin:
- Cliff Fluet - Mentor of the Year
- Craig Turner - Rising Star
Jo Farmer, Joint Managing Partner at Lewis Silkin, said:
“Social mobility has been part of the Lewis Silkin story since we were founded, and remains one of the main focus areas of our responsible business activity. We’re absolutely delighted to see our efforts – and the efforts of individual colleagues in the firm – recognised. The SOMOs have become an important platform for promoting social mobility in the UK and we’re proud to be associated with them again this year”.
Tunde Banjoko OBE, Founder of the UK Social Mobility Awards, said:
“Our vision is for every employer and educator in the
UK to take meaningful action on social mobility, so we’re
thrilled to see the highest ever entries to this year’s
awards.
This record number really highlights that more and more UK
businesses understand social mobility is good for business and are
actively getting involved in implementing initiatives across the
board.”
Winners for the awards are determined by an independent judging panel, made up of leading figures from business, charity, and the public sector, chaired by the HM Lord Lieutenant of London, Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE.
The winners will be announced on Thursday 2nd October 2025.
