Katherine Bills and Kevin Ramakrishna presented “Land Use 101” on June 12, as part of the Municipal Attorneys Institute conference in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Their presentation focused on the basics of land use law in Wisconsin and the zoning issues governments and private developers face during the development process. They covered a wide range of topics, including the comprehensive planning process and evidentiary issues facing municipal boards and committees. The three-day event was hosted by the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, an organization that fosters Wisconsin cities and villages to exchange ideas, educates individuals elected and appointed to govern those cities and villages and advocates on their behalf with the Wisconsin Legislature, governor and state agencies.
