Fernandez, Chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment Law Department and member of the Management Committee, has been recognized as a 2025 Women of Influence honoree in the category of Attorneys by the Los Angeles Business Journal.
This prestigious honor highlights Marta’s exceptional leadership, legal expertise, and enduring contributions to the legal profession and the Los Angeles business community.
With over 38 years of experience, Marta represents employers in all aspects of management-labor relations, including negotiating more than 100 labor contracts across industries, with a focus in healthcare, hospitality, and higher education. As General Counsel on labor matters to JMBM, her counsel is sought after on matters involving multi-million-dollar labor agreements, wage and hour law, class actions, NLRB practice, and union relations.
Most recently, she served as chief negotiator in high-stakes negotiations for major healthcare clients, successfully securing long-term labor agreements for thousands of employees—without strikes or disruptions.
