The Inside Scoop: What is Government Thinking about Infrastructure?
2025 is shaping up to be a major election year in Canada. That means party platforms and a raft of new policy proposals will soon be coming our way. As always, we expect infrastructure to feature prominently in these announcements. Not only is infrastructure a rare feel-good (and often non-partisan) political issue, but it is badly needed. Our country faces demand for new schools and hospitals to accommodate population growth, new roads and public transit systems to address traffic congestion, new homes to address the national housing crisis and new power generation and transmission development to facilitate energy transition and electrification. What infrastructure programs and funding might feature in 2025's budgets and platforms, and could there be some fresh new infrastructure ideas on the horizon?
We will explore these questions and more with our panel of government relations professionals and McCarthy Tétrault lawyers engaged in the public policy and infrastructure development space. We are pleased to invite you to join us for this exciting session.

- Brad Nicpon, Partner, McCarthy Tetrault
