McCarthy Tétrault partners Pat Boucher and Roger Taplin have been named to the 2025 edition of Canadian Lawyer magazine's list of Canada's 25 Most Influential Lawyers . Both were recognized for their work in the business law category.

In addition to being a result of their transformative work to advance the law and improve legal services, their inclusion in this ranking is a testament to their broader impact on the legal community and Canadian society at large. Pat and Roger have recently been involved in some of the largest and most complex transactions in Canada. They have an unparalleled reputation for delivering strategic and innovative legal and business solutions to complex mandates.

Pat is a partner in the Montreal Business Law Group and co-leader of the firm's National Capital Markets Group. Recognized for his business acumen and ability to find practical solutions to complex problems, he practices primarily in the areas of securities, capital markets, public and private mergers and acquisitions, and corporate law, with a particular focus on private equity, pension funds, and financial institutions. A partner in our Vancouver office, Roger is co-head of our global Metals & Mining practice. He acts for some of the world's largest mining companies and their financiers on domestic and international transactions, providing innovative solutions to complex multi-jurisdictional matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, metal production purchases, and various other financings. With traditional commercial arrangements under strain in the current global political climate, Roger plays a crucial role in helping clients find new ways to grow.
