Vermilion Energy has announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Westbrick Energy for total consideration of C$1.075-billion. Upon closing, Vermilion will have over 1.1 million net acres of land in the deep basin region of Alberta, becoming the region’s fifth largest producer. The transaction is expected to close in Q1 2025.

Bennett Jones acted for the controlling shareholder of Westbrick Energy in the transaction.
