Slovak News - Jan 97 - Proposal Of The Law On Antidumping

Slovakia Employment and HR
The Slovak Government passed the proposal of the Law on antidumping. This aims to protect domestic producers against competition from abroad applying "dumping" prices.

According to this proposal, if the price difference for the same product in the foreign market and that imported to Slovakia is greater than 2%, then the antidumping legislation will come into effect.

The responsible authority with respect to this regulation is MF SR, which can use one of the three following sanctions for not complying with the law:

  • reimbursement of costs that were caused by dumping through readjustment of price;
  • application of temporary antidumping duty;
  • imposing so called final antidumping duty.

These sanctions are applicable to both an importer and exporter.

The Proposal should be discussed in the next meeting of the National Council SR.
