The Department of Merchant Shipping has issued a reminder to registered owners, bareboat charterers, managers and representatives of ships flying the Cyprus flag regarding renewal of civil liability certificates under the CLC Convention, Bunkers Convention, Wreck Removal Convention and the Athens Convention and EU Passenger Liability Regulation.

The expiry date for most of the current certificates issued by the DMS is 20 February 2018, and there has been an unprecedented delay in the submission of renewal applications this year. The DMS therefore urges persons who require renewal to apply without further delay in order to ensure that renewal takes place before the deadline of 20 February, particularly as the day before the deadline is a public holiday in Cyprus. Applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis.
