The Brazilian National Social Security Institute (INSS) published Ordinance DTI/DIRBEN/INSS No. 156, dated April 28, 2026, establishing “INSS Empresa” as the official channel through which companies may consult information related to their employees’ leave of absence and social security benefits. The new platform will replace the Conadem system (Company Sick Leave Assistance Consultation).

Access to INSS Empresa will be carried out through a gov.br account, using a digital certificate linked to the company’s Corporate Taxpayer ID (CNPJ). A1 and A3 legal entity digital certificates issued by certification authorities accredited by the Brazilian Public Key Infrastructure (ICP-Brasil) will be accepted, while the use of cloud-based certificates will not be permitted. The regulation also authorizes the delegation of access to third parties, who must hold a gov.br authentication account with silver or gold reliability level.

The tool will allow remote consultation of information related to employees’ social security benefits, eliminating the need for in-person attendance at INSS agencies. The data made available include the type of benefit, dates of request, granting, commencement, and termination, as well as the status of the benefit at the time of consultation. The new platform also expands the period of availability of social security information — allowing access to information dating back to 2019 — and provides real-time updates, with a more intuitive interface and fully digital operation.

The system will enter into force on May 15, 2026.
