United States Oregon

Oregon has three separate minimum wages that vary based on work location and inflation (as applicable), which are labeled Portland Metro, Standard, and Nonurban. The Standard minimum wage is applicable to the counties of Benton, Clatsop, Columbia, Deschutes, Hood River, Jackson, Josephine, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Polk, Tillamook, Wasco, Yamhill, and parts of Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington outside the urban growth boundary. The Standard minimum wage is $14.20 per hour between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024. It will be adjusted annually, effective July 1, based on the increase, if any, to the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers for the US City Average.

The Portland Metro minimum wage is $15.45 per hour until June 30, 2024, at which time it increases to $1.25 over the Standard minimum wage, and includes parts of Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties within the urban growth boundary.

The Nonurban minimum wage, applicable to Baker, Coos, Crook, Curry, Douglas, Gilliam, Grant, Harney, Jefferson, Klamath, Lake, Malheur, Morrow, Sherman, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, and Wheeler counties, is currently $13.20 per hour but will likely increase to $1 less than the Standard minimum wage, effective July 1, 2024.

Employers who wish to confirm which minimum wage applies to their county or metropolitan area may utilize the interactive map located on the Oregon Bureau of Labor & Industries webpage.
