Bowditch partners Christopher Rock and Jon Barooshian will give the introduction and moderate the panel, respectively, at "Time is Running Out to Maximize the Value of Opportunity Zones," a joint program of the Marlborough and MetroWest chambers sponsored by Bowditch, taking place at 7:30 a.m. on September 10 at the Apex Center in Marlborough.

While opportunity zones, a tool to help real estate investors defer gains from sales or exchanges of capital assets by investing gains in a "qualified opportunity fund," will still be a factor in 2020, investors will get the most value by investing by the end of 2019. Topics will include recent opportunity zone developments and how to get the most value from these investments.

Other members of the panel include:

  • Chris Cahill, Principal, Family Office Services, Twelve Points Wealth Management
  • Meredith Harris, Executive Director, Marlborough Economic Development Corporation
  • Thatcher Kezer III, Chief Operating Officer, City of Framingham
  • Lynn Tokarczyk, Government Incentives Consultant, Business Development Strategies Inc.
