The MSRB filed a rule change with the SEC to extend the
effective date of
previously approved amendments to MSRB Rule G-21 and new MSRB Rule G-40 (collectively, the
"advertising rules"). Currently, the effective date of
the advertising rules is set to be February 7, 2019.
The MSRB stated that it is seeking the extension in order to
complete its initial guidance, submit any related rule changes,
"and, subsequently, allow dealers and municipal advisors to
establish and implement effective policies and procedures for
compliance with the advertising rules."
