The District of Massachusetts has another new district judge.  Earlier this month, Allison Burroughs was sworn in as the latest addition to the District of Massachusetts bench. Judge Burroughs is the fourth new district judge confirmed to the District Court in the past year, and she will fill the seat formerly occupied by Judge Rya Zobel, who recently took senior status.  Prior to her appointment to the bench, Judge Burroughs served in both the Boston and Philadelphia United States Attorney's offices, specializing in white collar and economic crimes, including intellectual property and computer crimes, and honing her expertise in trials and investigations.

Here in the Boston U.S. Attorney's Office, Judge Burroughs initiated and supervised the computer crime and intellectual property section.  Judge Burroughs was a partner at Nutter McClennen & Fish, where she represented individuals and companies in investigations involving federal, state and local law enforcement, with a focus on the life sciences industry.
