Pryor Cashman served as lead counsel to brand management platform WHP Global on its recent $115 million acquisition of the Joseph Abboud trademarks from Tailored Brands. The transaction included a licensing agreement, whereby WHP obtained the exclusive rights to sell and rent Joseph Abboud branded apparel across the U.S. and Canada.
Launched in 2019, the New York based brand acquisition and management firm WHP Global is backed by funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P., with financing from BlackRock. The closing of this transaction, following WHP's acquisition of global fashion brand Anne Klein in 2019, brings WHP to a total of $1.4 billion in retail sales.
