We represented actor Laurence Fox in his libel complaint against the actors’ union Equity, securing settlement which included the publication by the union of a full public apology.

Equity made the apology to our client for Tweets following his appearance on the BBC Question Time programme.

Laurence published his own writings on Twitter on how it felt to find himself subject to the social media storm which ensued: “I have been so shocked by some of the things said to me on these platforms and I have found some of it very hard to process.”

The apology, which can be viewed in full here, was covered extensively by the media.

Following that, Laurence said: “Hopefully this be might an opportunity for us to continue to celebrate diversity in all its forms. Including diversity of opinion.”
