OAPI has launched the fourth edition of the Africa GI Training programme in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, bringing together 18 participants from 13 member states. The programme aims to strengthen expertise in the identification, protection, management and promotion of geographical indications (GIs), through a combination of theoretical instruction, practical workshops and field visits. By building capacity in this area, OAPI seeks to support the development of local products, preserve cultural heritage, and enhance the competitiveness of African goods in regional and international markets. The initiative further reinforces the value of GIs as a tool for economic and community development.
