GLA – Gabinete Legal Angola and TTA – Sociedade de Advogados, members of PLMJ Network in Angola and Mozambique received a total of nine nominations
TTA – Sociedade de Advogados, a member of PLMJ International Legal Network, was "Highly Commended" in the category "Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team of the Year" at the African Legal Awards 2016, which took place in South Africa on Friday, 9 September. The evaluation process for this category took into account the firm's new standards in the provision of legal services in the area of litigation and arbitration, and its leading position in the market where it provides those services.
Operating in Mozambique for five years, TTA has become a point of reference in the market as a result of the advice it has provided on some of the largest and most important operations that have taken place in Mozambique, and of working directly and systematically with some of the best law firms from around the world.
TTA, which is the PLMJ Network member in Mozambique, was nominated for the fourth time in a row, in six categories ranging from social responsibility to innovation, alongside by GLA, the PLMJ Network member in Angola, which made its debut at this year's awards with three nominations in categories including "Property Team of The Year" and "Employment Team of the Year".
For PLMJ managing partner Luís Pais Antunes, "It is remarkable that, with only six years of activity in Angola and five in Mozambique, the work done by the teams dedicated to Africa has been so widely recognised. The fact that PLMJ Network members GLA and TTA are the firms that received the highest number of nominations at the African Legal Awards demonstrates our solid presence in countries as important as Mozambique and Angola. It also demonstrates our position as a full-service provider in Portuguese-speaking countries."
For PLMJ international partner and head of TTA, Tomás Timbane, "This honourable mention is an important landmark, as well as public and international recognition of the quality, technical capacity and know-how of TTA's lawyers. It positions us as a trusted partner for institutions and companies, which provides them with a full-service in Mozambique".
