The Energy Division of the Ministry of Energy, Small Business and Entrepreneurship has launched its website, which was accessible to the public from Wednesday, March 10.

The website, which may be accessed at www.energy.gov.bb, will give an insight into a number of energy initiatives and projects, including the Barbados National Energy Policy 2019-2030, the National Energy Information System, the Sustainable Energy Investment Programme, the Public Sector Smart Energy Programme, the Residential Energy Efficiency Programme and the Barbados' Offshore Petroleum Programme.

The Division is mandated to conduct energy planning, policy formulation; monitor, regulate and promote the development of Barbados' Energy Sector, including its emerging renewable and traditional non-renewable energy sectors.

Therefore, the launch of a new and updated website is an important step in engaging and educating the public as the Division continues to strive for Barbados to become a 100 per cent renewable and carbon-neutral island by 2030.

Visitors to the site will find information on the history of the Division, current and past projects, publications, relevant legislation, current issues in energy, and other activities relating to Barbados' energy sector.

The website will also feature key energy-related articles, a media gallery, which showcases the Division's public outreach and promotional activities, and details on tenders, job opportunities and consultancies being advertised.

Throughout the year, the Energy Division will roll out additional features and continue to update the website in an effort to improve the overall user experience.
