Rob Zimmerman ended his fourth consecutive and final term as Shaker Heights City Councilman in 2021. Rob served for a total of 16 years, chaired multiple committees, and served two years as vice mayor. Mayor David Weiss and all of Rob's colleagues thanked him for his service, on very personal terms.

"Rob, I always felt you had an incredible intuition on this council and a sense of the pulse of the community," Weiss said. "You care deeply about Shaker and you've always known how to balance and understand competing interests and views."

At the same time, Weiss noted that Zimmerman "never shied away from making the tough decisions—in fact, I think you enjoyed them."

"Benesch was extremely supportive of my public service, true to the firm's core value of making meaningful contributions to the communities in which we live," said Zimmerman.
