Mintz is advising CVC DIF, the infrastructure business of global private markets manager CVC, in connection with its portfolio company Aurora Towers' agreement to acquire American Tower Corporation's Canadian telecommunications tower business. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals.

The acquisition includes 255 wireless communication sites across Canada and is expected to expand Aurora’s portfolio to more than 650 sites across the country, further strengthening its position as one of Canada’s largest independent wireless tower operators.

The investment builds on CVC DIF's acquisition of SBA Communications' Canadian wireless tower business in 2025 and the subsequent establishment of Aurora Towers as an independent Canadian tower platform.

Mintz's cross-border team was led by Matthew T. Simpson and Michael Akkawi and included Brook Wong, Tully Cogswell, and Emma Weiss (corporate); Mervyn Allen (real estate); Alex North (debt finance); Katy Pitch (tax); Emily Fan (litigation); Anthony de Fazekas (intellectual property); and Patrick Denroche (employment). Additional support was provided by Timothy Santoli (tax) and Jon Taylor (corporate).
