Vassilis Psyrras, Advocate / Counsel & Theodora Alexandrou, Advocate / Associate of Elias Neocleous & Co and our guest lecturers Roy Saunders, Founder/Chairman of IBSA, Lucy Greenwood of The International Family Law Group, IBSA UK, and Nicolas Bachmann, Partner, will hold a discussion group conference exploring the complex aspects of international succession and estate planning. The lecture and discussion will focus on the relocation of a high-net-worth UK individual to Cyprus while retaining assets in the UK, Liechtenstein, Spain and the United States. The session will outline the existing structure, including UK company interests, a Cyprus subsidiary, a Liechtenstein foundation, a UK pension, a US investment fund and immovable property in Cyprus and Spain.

The discussion will address the interaction between UK inheritance tax, domicile and deemed domicile rules, and Cyprus tax residence and non-dom status. It will also consider the potential impact of forced heirship on Cyprus immovable property, cross border pension planning, and corporate structuring issues arising from a UK parent with a Cyprus subsidiary.

In addition, the lecturers will examine asset protection in blended family scenarios and practical strategies to align tax residence, succession planning and corporate structuring in order to minimise conflict and fragmentation across jurisdictions.

The meeting will incorporate several Q&A opportunities for delegates to engage directly with the lecturers.
