New York Appellate Partner Dean Pillarella will speak on a panel with Presiding Justice Renwick and Justice Singh (Ret.) of the New York Appellate Division, First Department, at the upcoming New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) Commercial & Federal Litigation Section Spring 2026 Meeting, which is scheduled to take place from Friday, May 1 through Sunday, May 3 at the Sagamore Resort on Lake George in Bolton Landing, New York. The panel, titled, "Appellate Practice: Beyond Brief Writing and Oral Argument," will take place on May 2 from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. and will address various topics related to appellate procedure and practice in state and federal courts. MCLE credit will be available.

Participants at the NYSBA event will have the opportunity to attend sessions covering a range of litigation-related topics, including the legal and ethical implications of artificial intelligence in the practice of law. The agenda also includes several networking and entertainment events, as well as a gala dinner at which First Deputy Chief Administrative Judge Hon. Norman St. George will receive the Robert L. Haig Award for Distinguished Public Service.

Mr. Pillarella is a member of the firm's Appellate Practice and Vice Chair of the Child Victims Act/Human Trafficking & Assault Practice. He regularly appears in the Appellate Division and prepares and argues substantive motions and appeals in trial and appellate courts in commercial, civil rights, products liability, professional liability, revival/sexual abuse, rideshare and transportation matters, among others. He also serves as embedded appellate counsel during trials to ensure the integrity of the record on appeal.
