Ballard Spahr Consumer Financial Services Counsel Adam Maarec has been admitted as a Fellow of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers (ACCFSL), an organization that recognizes preeminent lawyers in the field of consumer financial services law.
ACCFSL Fellowship is limited to attorneys who have achieved exceptional professional distinction, demonstrated deep experience in consumer financial services law, and made meaningful contributions to the field through scholarship, teaching, or public service. Admission follows a vetting process and is reserved for those whose careers reflect the highest standards of excellence, integrity, and leadership.
Adam’s practice spans a broad range of issues, including compliance with federal and state consumer protection laws, navigating supervisory and enforcement actions, and structuring innovative financial products. His ability to provide practical, business-oriented counsel—combined with his deep understanding of the evolving regulatory landscape—has made him a trusted adviser to clients across the industry.
Adam is the seventh Ballard Spahr attorney to be named an ACCFSL Fellow. He joins Consumer Financial Services Group Co-Leaders John Socknat and Dan McKenna; Partner Joseph J. Schuster; and Senior Counsel Richard J. Andreano, Jr., John L. Culhane, Jr., and Alan S. Kaplinsky. Alan was ACCFSL’s first president and chair of its Fellows Nominating Committee for many years. He received ACCFSL’s Senator William Proxmire Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016.
