Thompson Coburn has been honored with the Innovation Award for Innovative Legal Practice by Missouri Lawyers Media, recognizing the firm’s leadership in advancing responsible, forward-thinking innovation within the legal profession.
Matt Braunel, chair of Thompson Coburn’s AI and Innovation committees, recently shared insights with Missouri Lawyers Media on the firm’s approach to responsible technology adoption. He discussed his work in developing policies and training programs that guide attorneys and staff in the safe and effective use of AI tools for research, drafting, and data analysis. The committee also sponsored an Innovation Incubator, which aids in the modernization of aspects of the practice of law and the firm’s business practices. The Innovation Incubator receives concepts and looks for ways to add, improve, modernize or automate processes and workflows.
Matt also noted that law will always lag behind technology, and he explained that lawyers can lead by anticipating how new tools will reshape clients’ realities.
This recognition reflects years of collaborative work across the firm to build a modern, thoughtful, and future-ready approach to legal practice.
