Thompson Coburn has signed a long-term renewal for its New York office space at 488 Madison Avenue, continuing the firm's presence on the 14th and 15th floors of the Midtown tower.
This renewal is more than just a lease extension: It reflects the firm's long-term commitment to New York and confidence in the future of its practice there. As part of the agreement with national real estate investment firm The Feil Organization, the office will undergo a complete redesign and build-out of the 46,000-square-foot space to create a modern, collaborative environment.
Construction is expected to begin in April 2026 and finish by May 2027, creating a workspace with expanded capacity and flexibility and upgraded technology. The design features a new café and entertainment area, with inviting, accessible spaces for client events and socializing. Additional upgrades will include a redesigned entry and new gathering spaces to enhance collaboration. Legal administrative teams will be grouped to strengthen teamwork and efficiency.

The firm's New York office was established in 2021 through a combination with Hahn & Hessen, a premier boutique firm with nearly a century of experience in commercial finance, bankruptcy, workouts, and complex litigation.
Built in 1949 and spanning 447,000 square feet, 488 Madison Avenue is in Midtown Manhattan along 51st and 52nd streets, with other major tenants including the Archdiocese of New York, Shawmut Design and Construction, and Alvarez & Marsal Property Solutions.
