Foley Hoag advised Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM), a
leading cybersecurity and cloud computing company that powers and
protects businesses online, in its recently announced acquisition of Fermyon
Technologies, Inc., a serverless WebAssembly company. Akamai plans
to leverage the shift of artificial intelligence inference to the
edge by combining Fermyon's cloud-native WebAssembly
function-as-a-service with its globally distributed platform.
