Glencore plc, 2025 YKCA 8: We successfully defended Glencore against a proposed securities class action in the Yukon Court of Appeal, in a case that considered jurisdictional reach and discontinued operations under Yukon's Business Corporations Act. The team included Michael Feder, Shane D'Souza, Patrick Williams, Adam Taylor, Rene Sorell and Lindsay Frame.
Amazon.com.ca ULC v. Canada (Attorney General), 2024 FCA 217: We represented the Canadian Association of Broadcasters in responding to an appeal at the Federal Court of Appeal from a CRTC decision that requires qualifying foreign-owned online streaming services to contribute a portion of their Canadian earnings to specific funds. The team included Steven Mason, Brandon Kain, Richard Lizius, Stephanie Willsey, Safia Thompson and Christina Vincent.
