We have bolstered our Channel Islands practice with the appointment of four lawyers across Jersey and Guernsey, further strengthening our expertise in Banking & Finance, Regulatory & Risk and Insolvency & Dispute Resolution.
In Jersey, Jasmin Guy and Jessica Miller join the Banking & Finance team as associates, alongside Metumo Shilongo, who joins the Regulatory & Risk Advisory team as a senior associate. In Guernsey, Jordan Trebert joins the Insolvency & Dispute Resolution team as an associate.
About the new team members
- Jessica trained and qualified at a top 20 UK law firm, gaining hands on experience in high value corporate and finance matters and advises on a broad range of financing transactions.
- Jasmin advises on lender and borrower transactions. She was previously a solicitor at a leading UK firm focusing on banking and finance matters.
- Metumo brings over a decade of financial services regulatory experience, advising institutions on prudential, conduct and M&A issues; most recently with a magic circle firm in London following senior roles in South Africa.
- Jordan trained and qualified at an international firm in the UK, where he gained experience in commercial, real estate and private wealth disputes. He now advises on corporate and commercial disputes, including insolvency and contentious trust matters.
Jonathan Heaney, Jersey Managing Partner, said:
'These hires reflect the sustained growth of our Jersey practice and our commitment to investing in talent that delivers for clients. Jessica and Jasmin bring solid transactional experience acting for both lenders and borrowers, while Metumo's decade-plus in financial services regulation across Johannesburg and London adds further depth to our dedicated regulatory bench in the Channel Islands.'
Matt Sanders, Guernsey Managing Partner, added:
'Jordan's arrival strengthens our disputes capability in Guernsey, particularly in corporate, insolvency and trust litigation. We continue to build a team that can handle complex, multi party matters with the responsiveness and practicality our clients expect.'
These appointments follow a series of strategic senior hires across the Channel Islands in recent months, including Insolvency & Dispute Resolution partner Simon Hurry, Investment Funds & Corporate partners Gareth Morgan and Simon Hopwood and Employment senior counsel Jo Powis.
