Dallas, Tex. (September 2, 2025) - Dallas Partner Susan Briones will speak on a Sept. 29 panel at the American Society for Health Care Risk Management's 2025 annual conference in Charlotte, N.C., concerning liability and quality of care issues that nurses and allied health professionals commonly face in hospital and healthcare system environments.
Ms. Briones will be joined on the panel, titled "Top 5 Risk Management Issues Facing Nurses & Allied Health Professionals," by Parkland Health's Vice President for Safety & Clinical Risk Management, Karen Garvey, and its Associate General Counsel, Paige Lueking. The session will provide valuable insights into issues facing nurses and allied health professionals in the context of healthcare liability claims; quality of care complaints; medication errors; employment; and workplace violence incidents. Ms. Briones and her co-panelists will provide real-world examples from litigation, depositions, licensing board investigations, employment disputes and workplace violence scenarios.
Ms. Briones is a member of Lewis Brisbois' Healthcare Practice. She has practiced healthcare liability defense in Texas for over 20 years and has extensive experience representing healthcare providers including physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, and social workers in healthcare liability claims and providing legal assistance in employment, compliance and contracting matters. She also handles cases involving healthcare institutions such as hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and freestanding emergency, surgical, and general medicine clinics.
