Partner Robert Carroll has been recognized by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly as a Go To Lawyer: Intellectual Property for 2025. Since 2020, Go To Lawyers has showcased the leaders in the Massachusetts legal community across practice areas.
Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly recognized Rob for his IP and commercial litigation expertise and his longstanding commitment to pro-bono practice and legal services to those in need. He is a member of Goodwin’s Litigation department in Boston, and has more than two decades of experience representing clients across industries in intellectual property litigation and counseling, including patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, false advertising, and unfair competition matters, with a particular focus on the life sciences industry. Co-leader of the firm’s Copyright and Trademark groups, Rob has both a copyright and a trademark victory before the U.S. Supreme Court.
In addition to this honor, Rob has earned a top ranking in the WTR-1000, World Trademark Review’s guide to the world’s leading trademark professionals. Since 2021, he has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for his work in Litigation – Intellectual Property, Litigation – Patent, and Copyright Law. Rob has also been selected as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer by Law & Politics and Boston magazine for seven years, and previously as a Rising Star.
Rob is a past recipient of Goodwin’s Fraser Award for his extraordinary commitment to pro bono service. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of civil legal aid provider Greater Boston Legal Services. He is also a member of the International Trademark Association, for which he serves on the Emerging Issues Committee, and previously served on the U.S. Legislation and Regulation Committee and the U.S. Amicus Committee.
