Jeffrey Ruskin has joined Jones Day as a partner in its Real Estate Practice. He is based in the Firm's New York Office.
Mr. Ruskin represents private equity real estate funds, financial institutions, real estate investment trusts, family offices, and real estate developers in a broad spectrum of real estate and real estate finance transactions. He has significant experience advising clients on the acquisition, disposition, financing, refinancing, and development of real estate assets throughout the United States. This work includes projects involving office buildings; hotels; multifamily housing; retail centers; and mixed-use, industrial, and infrastructure projects. Mr. Ruskin also advises lenders and borrowers in the origination of commercial mortgage loans, construction loans, mezzanine loans, preferred equity, and other structured financings. He has extensive experience handling secondary market transactions, loan-on-loan arrangements, complex workouts, and the negotiation of inter-creditor and co-lender agreements.

Mr. Ruskin joins a global team of 130 lawyers in Jones Day's Real Estate Practice, who provide clients with comprehensive advice across all stages of real estate investment and all major real estate sectors. The practice delivers seamless collaboration across multiple disciplines, including funds, joint ventures, M&A, finance, development, tax, regulatory, planning/zoning, and environmental. The Firm's real estate clients include private equity real estate funds, institutional investors, public and private companies, REITs, lenders, developers, operators, and managers. Mr. Ruskin earned his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland. He has been recognized since 2022 by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Real Estate Law.
