Thompson Coburn litigation associate Allison Brauns Spors has been appointed to a two-year term on the Court Advisory Committee for the Eighth Circuit. The 17-member committee includes attorneys, prosecutors, and judges from across the circuit, which spans seven states.
The Court Advisory Committee plays a key role in supporting the effective administration of justice within the Eighth Circuit. Its responsibilities include:
- Advising the Judicial Council on circuit-wide judicial policy and procedures
- Assisting in the development and review of internal operating procedures
- Supporting initiatives to improve the efficiency and fairness of appellate processes
- Providing input on proposed changes to local and federal rules
- Participating in planning for the Eighth Circuit Judicial Conference
- Offering feedback on court operations from the perspective of practicing attorneys
Allie brings a broad range of litigation experience to the committee. She has handled cases of varying complexity—from small business disputes to large-scale commercial litigation. Her work includes managing written and electronic discovery, taking and defending depositions, and arguing dispositive motions.
She has also contributed to federal jury trials, including one she second-chaired, and has significant appellate experience, having served as the principal drafter of briefs submitted to both federal and state courts of appeal.
