A&O Shearman is further expanding its European funds and private capital capabilities with the appointment of two new partners in Luxembourg.

A&O Shearman is further expanding its European funds and private capital capabilities with the appointment of two new partners in Luxembourg. Kristof Meynaerts and Severina Käppeli will join the firm from Clifford Chance, bringing a wealth of experience and deep industry insight.

Their arrival marks a significant strategic investment in the firm's well-established Luxembourg team, which already features partners Miao Wang and Vittoria Faraone. Kristof will take the helm of the Luxembourg funds and asset management practice.

Kristof Meynaerts brings 17 years of experience and is widely recognized for his extensive knowledge in the structuring and operation of both regulated and unregulated funds, with a particular focus on real estate and private capital funds. Kristof advises a diverse range of clients, providing comprehensive guidance on fund financing as well as regulatory, corporate, and contractual aspects of Luxembourg investment funds, both on the investor and sponsor side.

Severina Käppeli brings more than 12 years of expertise in the structuring and setup of both regulated and unregulated investment funds. Her practice spans, on one side, a broad spectrum of asset classes, including real estate, private equity and debt, and, on the other side, a particular experience of advising investors. She is known for her precision, strategic insight, and ability to navigate the most complex fund structures and cross-border transactions.
