Foley Hoag has been named among the top international law firms
in Latin America by Latinvex, an online publisher of daily news and
weekly analysis on Latin American business. The firm was recognized
for its work in four categories, including arbitration, aviation,
mining and energy.
The annual ranking is based on a combination of factors, including
value, prominence and scope of work and references among clients
and peers. Earlier this year, Kenneth Figueroa, Chair of the Latin
America Practice, was recognized by the publication on its
Top 100 Lawyers list, and the firm ranked among the
top international law firms advising on pending
Latin America cases at the World Bank's International Centre
for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
Foley Hoag has been representing Latin American States and their
entities in international disputes for over 30 years. The
firm's Latin America practice was formally launched in 2021 and
has maintained a steady growth. Over half of its multinational and
diverse team includes attorneys fluent in Spanish and Portuguese
and trained in various jurisdictions in Latin America, with a
comprehensive understanding of both common and civil law.
