Foley Hoag is pleased to share that corporate transactions attorneyJay G. Reillyhas joined the firm as a partner in its Boston and Washington, D.C., offices. Reilly has nearly three decades of experience providing solutions-focused advice to life sciences and high-tech companies on both major transactions and day-to-day operational matters.

Reilly represents biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostic, and digital health companies—as well as universities and nonprofits—in licensing and collaboration agreements, venture financings, and mergers and acquisitions. His work spans both domestic and international markets.

“Jay brings deep experience advising companies in the life-sciences and high-tech industries on a variety of complex transactions,” said Jeff Quillen, partner and co-chair of Foley Hoag’s Life Sciences Industry Group. “I’m excited to welcome Jay to Foley Hoag and look forward to working with him to support our clients.”

Reilly worked in-house for more than a decade, having previously served as general counsel at a publicly traded specialty pharmaceutical company and in senior legal roles at software and IT consulting companies. Those experiences gave him a client’s perspective on the challenges facing companies in these industries and have positioned him to serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and boards of directors, as well as outside general counsel to companies with lean in-house legal departments.

“Foley Hoag’s nationally recognized life sciences and corporate teams provide an ideal platform for serving my clients on their most complex and strategic transactions,” said Reilly. “I look forward to working with these amazing lawyers and contributing to the growth of the firm’s life sciences industry group.”

Reilly holds a B.A. from Yale College and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and earned G. Joseph Tauro Distinguished Scholar honors.
