The American Lawyer has ranked Foley Hoag #30 in its 2025 Pro Bono Scorecard. This prestigious annual ranking recognizes the firms that have donated significant legal services to organizations and individuals. Foley Hoag has risen on this list for three consecutive years, starting at 65 in 2022, 54 in 2023, 34 in 2024, and climbing an additional four spots in 2025.
The Pro Bono Report ranks AmLaw 200 firms by a pro bono score, which is calculated based on the average number of pro bono hours per lawyer in the prior year as well as the percentage of lawyers who performed more than 20 hours of pro bono work in the previous year. Over 100 firms were included in this year's rankings.

In 2024, Foley Hoag attorneys logged an average of 74.6 pro bono hours, while nearly 58% of attorneys logged more than 20 pro bono hours.

Many of the firm's lawyers help nonprofits and small businesses that are critical to the economic and social well-being of our communities.
