As reported in Law360, Lowenstein Sandler was recognized by the D.C. Access to Justice Commission for its contributions to local legal aid organizations.
The commission recognized 34 firms that donated a portion of their Washington office revenue to local legal aid organizations in the past year.
Campaign supporters say such private donations for civil legal services are critical amid increased operating costs and uncertainty over local and federal government funding.
The Raising the Bar donations for 2024 from all of the firms totaled $5.6 million.
The D.C. Access to Justice Commission was created by the D.C. Court of Appeals in 2005 to help improve the ability of low- and moderate- income residents to access the civil justice system. The Commission is also responsible for raising awareness in the community of the need for equal access to justice.
