Foley Hoag and pro bono client Transparency International U.S. have been awarded the Impact Award in the 2025 TrustLaw Awards, presented by the Thomson Reuters Foundation. This honor recognizes a pro bono legal research project that has led to demonstrable change and meaningful outcomes for communities and beneficiaries around the world.
Foley Hoag and our pro bono client Transparency International U.S. received the TrustLaw 2025 Impact Award for pro bono research on combatting international corruption that led to the landmark Foreign Extortion Prevention Act. The project involved extensive legal research on foreign bribery legislation, supporting Transparency International U.S. in its mission to combat corruption and promote integrity in government, business, and international development. The work, facilitated by TrustLaw, the Foundation's global pro bono legal network, exemplifies the power of legal collaboration to drive systemic impact.
"We are honored to receive the TrustLaw Impact Award alongside our partners at Transparency International U.S.," said Rebecca Cazabon, Pro Bono Counsel at Foley Hoag. "This recognition speaks to the importance of public-private collaboration in strengthening global anti-corruption frameworks, and to the enduring value of pro bono work in serving the public good."
Chris Hart and Shrutih Tewarie worked on this matter for Foley Hoag.
