In response to the American administration's pausing of foreign bribery enforcement in February, the UK, France and Switzerland announced a new anticorruption taskforce aimed at strengthening collaboration and enforcement on 20 March 2025. All three countries have wide-reaching anti-bribery legislations with jurisdiction to prosecute criminal conduct that occurs overseas if there is a link to the prosecuting country.

What will such an alliance mean for cross-border investigations and prosecution of foreign bribery? Are the U.S. truly giving up on investigations and prosecutions? What are current areas of risk associated with this new world order? How should companies adapt their anticorruption policies?

Discussion with Christine Braamskamp, Managing Partner and Chair of the Investigations, Compliance and Defense practice at Jenner & Block's London office, Astrid Mignon Colombet, Co-Chair of Dispute Resolution, White-Collar Crime & Investigations at August Debouzy and Saverio Lembo, Co-Chair of the White-Collar Crime practice group at Bär & Karrer (Switzerland).
