NEW YORK – Mayer Brown announced today that Aideen Brennan has joined the firm as a partner in its global Corporate & Securities practice in New York, further strengthening its financial services, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity offerings. She was previously at Sidley Austin LLP.
"Aideen's understanding of industry-specific financial services and M&A will further enhance Mayer Brown's ability to assist clients on a variety of complex, high-profile, and strategic domestic and cross-border transactions," said Paul Theiss, co-leader of Mayer Brown's global Mergers and Acquisitions practice. "Her deep knowledge and significant experience will be tremendously beneficial to our clients around the world."
Aideen counsels clients on complex domestic and cross-border transactions, including public and private M&As, joint ventures, co-investments, and early- and late-stage minority investments. She regularly represents private equity sponsors, family offices and strategics on their investments in the financial services, technology, media, telecommunications, and life sciences sectors, with a particular emphasis on artificial intelligence, supercomputing, and digital infrastructure.
"Joining Mayer Brown was a natural next step in my career, given the firm's strong capabilities in financial services and M&A, along with the recent growth of its global Corporate & Securities practice," said Aideen. "I am thrilled to be part of such an accomplished team and look forward to counseling the firm's multinational clients on complex transactions.
"The addition of Aideen is another strong step in building out our strategic plan," said Allison Aviki, managing partner of Mayer Brown's New York Office. "By adding accomplished lawyers to our Corporate & Securities practice we are continuing to enhance our platform for financial services clients, both in New York and globally."
Aideen is the third recent hire to join the firm's New York office in the past two weeks along with Dan Serota and David Kreisler.
