Nyemaster Goode is saddened to share it has lost a most valuable member of its team with the passing of G.R. ("Rick") Neumann. Rick was an attorney with the firm from 1976 through 2021, with a practice in the corporate department.
Throughout Rick's long service to the firm, he was a trusted advisor to many of the firm's clients, always offering practical suggestions for solving often difficult and complex issues. Rick was a mentor to many of the firm's younger attorneys, asking questions as to why a certain approach was being taken and offering explanations as to noted document changes. Rick was a leader of the firm, having served in numerous management positions for over 20 years.
In addition to Rick's instrumental role at Nyemaster Goode, Rick was very involved in the community, having served on a number of boards and committees impacting the economic and civic development of the Greater Des Moines region. Just this past September, the City of Des Moines announced that a new play area scheduled to open in 2026 at Gray's Lake Park would be named the Rick Neumann Family Playground and Sprayground, "in recognition of Rick Neumann's instrumental role in leading the project fundraising and championing its vision from the very beginning."
Rick was a force and will be greatly missed. Please keep Rick's family in your thoughts.
