International law firm Ince & Co announced today the promotion of three lawyers to its partnership with effect from 1 May 2015. These promotions are supplemented by the lateral hire of a new partner who joined the Firm's London office in March.
The newly promoted partners are:
Khalid Hamed, Dubai
Khalid has over 25 years' experience providing legal
counsel in the Middle East for commercial organisations with
national and international operations including banks, insurance,
manufacturing, shipping and trading companies. He is actively
involved in the handling of a wide variety of cases before all
Courts of varying levels within the UAE. Khalid also advises
corporate clients on a range of non-contentious matters subject to
UAE law and practice in the region.
James Hickland, London
James is focused on international commercial litigation
and arbitration, and related advisory work. His practice covers
contract and tort issues in all of the firm's main contentious
practice areas, with particular focus on the shipping and aviation
industries. Many of James's cases feature proceedings in
multiple jurisdictions, often in relation to arrest or freezing of
assets to secure or enforce claims brought in England.
David Richards, London
David deals with all forms of shipping cases including
charterparty/bill of lading disputes and casualty work. He has a
particular focus on the Asian markets and travels regularly to
Japan. The majority of David's work is in London arbitration
and the Commercial Court. David also lectures on a variety of
subjects in the areas of dry shipping and litigation generally.
These partner promotions are supplemented by the recent lateral hire of Anna Anatolitou:
Anna Anatolitou, London
Anna has over 15 years' experience in the aviation sector,
including two years spent in-house as GC to the Air Arabia Group.
Her private practice experience includes having advised on and
handled some of the most high profile and complex airline disasters
over the last 15 years, including Concorde and Egypt Air. She has a
particular focus on airline start-ups and advising more broadly on
aviation litigation, regulatory and commercial issues. Previously
based in the UAE, where she led Bird & Bird's regional
aviation practice, Anna relocated to London on joining Ince &
Co. She will however maintain her strong connections in the EMEA
region, which continues to increase in importance as an
international aviation hub.
Jan Heuvels, International Senior Partner, commented:
"I would like to welcome Khalid, James, David and Anna to the Ince & Co partnership. Their experience and expertise builds on the excellent service that we are able to offer our clients around the world in our chosen sectors of shipping, trade, energy, aviation and insurance."
Since last year's partner promotions, Ince & Co also promoted Matthew Stratton to partner in corporate and recruited Philippe Ruttley to head up its EU and Competition practice.
