On Dec 30, 2020, the website "China Judgements Online" published the 1st instance decision of Beijing High People's Court in a trademark infringement case against Amazon and Beijing Sinnet Technology.

The court found Amazon and Beijing Sinnet infringed the exclusive rights of "AWS" trademarks No. 4249189, No. 8967031 and No. 8967030 owned by the plaintiff, Beijing Yanhuang Yingdong Company (ActionSoft).

In addition to granting injunction against Amazon and Beijing Sinnet, the court also awarded the plaintiff ActionSoft a damage of RMB76,463,000 (USD11.76 million) and reasonable expenses of RMB260,000 (USD40,000).

In this case, the court fee amounted to RMB1,543,100 (USD237,400). The defendants have to pay RMB 1 million (USD154,000) and the plaintiff pays the rest.
