The new Societies Act of British Columbia (the "New Act") came into force on November 28, 2016.  All societies incorporated under the predecessor legislation, the Society Act of British Columbia, must transition under the New Act by November 28, 2018.

All non-share corporations incorporated outside of British Columbia that carry on activities in British Columbia must register with the Registrar of Companies of British Columbia under the New Act by November 28, 2018.

If your non-share corporation is already registered under the predecessor legislation, the Society Act of British Columbia, then the registration will automatically be carried forward under the New Act.
