November 2021Peter Kováč, Of Counsel and head of the Life Sciences & Healthcare sector at Kinstellar's Bratislava office, served as lead organiser for the expert medical congress "Legal, Forensic and Economic Aspects of the Medical Profession", which took place online on 18 November 2021. The event, co-sponsored by medical education specialists SOLEN, forensic.sk and Kinstellar, is organised for medical doctors, managers and other healthcare professionals in Slovakia and is officially recognised by the Slovak Health Care Surveillance Authority as an expert event. 

Renáta Bláhova, Chairman of the Slovak Health Care Surveillance Authority, gave the opening speech at the congress, while Zuzana Baťová, Director of the State Institute for Drug Control, provided information on recent developments in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to his role as lead organiser, Peter Kováč also gave presentations in different segments of the congress focusing on compensation for damages and insurance frauds, medical malpractice in obstetrics and gynaecology, and legislation related to pregnancy termination. 

Peter's colleagues from Kinstellar's Prague office also participated at the event: Tomáa Čihula (Partner & firm-wide head of the Life Sciences & Healthcare sector) and Petra Ledvinková (Senior Associate) gave a presentation entitled "Compensation for damages caused by vaccination in the Czech Republic", while Petr Souček (Managing Associate) focused on compensation for non-material damage according to the methodology of the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic.
