PHILADELPHIA, October 18, 2021 — Cozen O'Connor is pleased to announce that Kathy Jaffari has been invited to join the advisory board of Drexel's Governance Center. The CCG advisory board is a select, invitation only group of prominent C-level, corporate directors, and governance experts that meets quarterly for a dynamic interchange of ideas designed to keep its members current and proactive in leading their boards and meeting their fiduciary obligations as board members. The board's effective engagement involves discussing the results of current research to enable them to stay in front of timely issues, challenge conventional wisdom, think strategically about issues confronting the board, and exchange ideas with their peer group of leaders in the area.

Recognized as a leader in the fields of corporate governance and securities, and chair of the firm's Corporate Governance & Securities Group, Jaffari devotes her practice to advising boards of directors and executive management teams and handling complex securities transactions for businesses in a variety of industries, including life sciences, energy, technology, and fintech. With more than 25 years' experience representing public and private companies, Jaffari has served as outside corporate counsel and has advised on the full panoply of corporate and securities law aspects of a wide range of matters. She also has as extensive experience in compliance matters and mergers and acquisitions, including ongoing business counseling.  Jaffari also assists nonprofit corporations with respect to all aspects of corporate governance matters. She writes and lectures extensively in the areas of corporate governance, including stakeholder issues such as sustainability and diversity, fiduciary duty matters, securities law compliance, and entity formations and transformations.

Jaffari believes in public service and has taken an active role in the community. She has been a tireless advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion and volunteer for children, immigrants, and communities in need, serving as president of the Support Center for Child Advocates and leading and serving on the board of directors of many local and national nonprofits. She has also served as chair of the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Bar Association and is currently running for vice chancellor of the association so that she may continue her call to public service by representing the voices of the association members and supporting advancements in our profession and our legal and judicial systems.
