SC Proposed Bill Forbids Eminent Domain By Pipeline Companies

SC is considering a bill that would prevent the use of eminent
domain for the Palmetto Pipeline petroleum line. A state Senate
subcommittee approved a bill barring the use of eminent domain by a
"private, for-profit pipeline company, including a publicly
traded for-profit company, that is not a public utility." The
bill would also create a study committee to consider a number of
issues raised that property owners.
