Debra Friedman authored an article about OSHA's latest COVID-19 guidance for non-health care employers and employees and how it is causing employers to reevaluate their return-to-work policies and procedures. OSHA, following the lead of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), now recommends that employers consider requiring employees to receive the COVID-19 vaccine or submit to regular COVID-19 testing, and also recommends that all employees, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission. OSHA offers more restrictive masking recommendations for workers in higher-risk workplaces, such as processing plants, high-volume grocery and retail stores, and manufacturing facilities.
