In the May 9, 2016, Federal Register, USDA's
Agricultural Marketing Service ("AMS") proposed to revise
the U.S. standards for grades of cauliflower, to allow all colors
of cauliflower (including purple, orange, and green) to be
certified to a U.S. grade. In addition, AMS proposed to: (i) amend
the size requirement to allow curds of less than four inches in
diameter to be certified to a grade; (ii) add marking requirements
to sizes of less than four inches in diameter; and (iii) remove the
unclassified section. Comments are due July 8,
2016.
