On April 3, 2018, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York announced
that John C. Williams has been named its president and chief
executive officer. Mr. Williams currently serves as the president
and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of San
Francisco, a position he has held since 2011. Mr. Williams joined
the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in 2002, and prior to his
appointment as president, served as executive vice president and
director of research. Mr. Williams has also served as a senior
economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisers. Mr.
Williams will begin as president and chief executive officer on
June 18, 2018, succeeding current president William C. Dudley, who
is retiring.
